Main Purpose:

We are seeking to hire a qualified person to join our FP&A team at our Terminal located in the Port of Rotterdam. Reporting to the FP&A Controller, the successful candidate must be proficient in both Dutch and English (speak, read, write, understand) and will be expected to play a key role in supporting the terminal operations, providing accurate cost data and analysis to enable informed decision-making across the business

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Controlling

  • Monitor actual terminal operating costs against approved budgets and forecasts on a monthly and year-to-date basis, identifying and investigating variances

  • Liaise with operational and procurement teams to ensure purchase orders and invoices are aligned with budgeted spend
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely monthly cost reports for distribution to terminal management and operations teams
  • Produce variance analysis commentary explaining key drivers of over- or under-spend versus budget and prior year etc.
  • Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements across terminal operations

Financial Reporting and analysis

  • Work closely with the FP&A Controller and Group SSC Accounting team to assist with the monthly financial close process Support the preparation of monthly management reporting deliverables, including
  • a.KPI, margin and fixed cost analysis,
  • b.Working capital analysis
  • c.Capex reporting
  • d.Preparing and uploading operational and financial statistics into Oracle FCCS
  • e. Monthly Business Review pack
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses for terminal management and operational teams providing analysis and supporting data as required Support the FP&A Controller and Terminal Manager with the
  • a. Preparation of the annual 5-year plan by collating cost inputs from department heads and challenging assumptions where appropriate
  • b. Uploading the annual financial budget and statistics into Oracle FCCS

Capex Control & Reporting

1.Prepare monthly capex reporting packs, tracking approved projects against budget, forecast and actual spend

2.Support the Terminal Manger and FP&A Controller with the preparation business cases for capex projects to be submitted to the Group Capex Committee for approval.

Local support and collaboration

1. Support the local management team by providing accurate and timely financial information, acting as a trusted business partner

2. Act as a point of contact between local operations and Group SSC Accounting ensuring adherence to existing processes, internal controls and best practice

3. Co-ordinate with the customs, accounts payable and treasury teams to ensure that the terminals customs account remains current and within limits to ensure no impact on operations

4. Support the wider Impala Terminals Group with continuous improvement for all financial processes

5. Support SSC Accounting teams with annual audit process

Knowledge and Skills

  • Undergraduate/ bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Proven experience in a similar FP&A or management accounting role

  • Fluent in both Dutch and English (non-negotiable)

  • High attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach to work

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is advantageous.
