Junior Front End Engineer

We're looking for a motivated Junior Front-End Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our RaptorOS web application, while growing their skills and experience within a collaborative engineering team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop and maintain features within the RaptorOS Web Application using React and Next.js

• Investigate and fix front-end bugs and usability issues.

• Build front-end features and enhancements with guidance from experienced developers.

• Refactor and clean existing front-end code to improve readability and maintainability.

• Build responsive and user-friendly interface.

• Integrate front-end components with existing APIs and services.

• Write and maintain tests for front-end functionality.

• Participate in code reviews and learn established development practices.

• Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders on feature implementation.

• Gain exposure to back-end services, databases, infrastructure, and other areas of the RaptorOS platform as experience develops.
  

What We’re Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

• 0–2 years of software development experience, including graduate, internship, or relevant project experience.

• Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

• Familiarity with React and component-based front-end development.

• Understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive web development.

• Familiarity with consuming REST APIs and working with asynchronous data.

• Basic understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows.

• Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.

• Knowledge of Git version control and collaborative development workflows.

• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.

• Good communication and ability to work collaboratively within a development team.

Desirable

• Experience with Next.js.

• Experience with TypeScript.

• Exposure to back-end development using Python, or similar.

• Experience with PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with Docker and containerised applications.

• Exposure to Azure and/or Google Cloud.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
