The Opportunity

We are looking for two Junior Full Stack Developers to join our Research and Development team. In these roles, you will support the ongoing development of the Centro platform by delivering small enhancements, resolving bugs, and improving stability and performance as we continue our Centro 2.0 roadmap. This includes contributing to AI development initiatives and AI-enabled features where required.

The ideal candidates have hands-on experience building web applications across the front end and back end, enjoy problem solving, and are comfortable working in a remote team. You will be mentored by our Engineering Lead and will be expected to take ownership of well-scoped tasks and see them through to release. You’ll also learn and apply AI‑assisted development practices safely (e.g., drafting tests/documentation and exploring implementation options), while validating outputs through testing and code review.

This role will initially be offered as a six-month fixed-term contract. Subject to business growth, ongoing requirements, individual performance and the outcome of the end-of-contract review, there may be an opportunity to extend the contract or transition to a permanent full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Use AI-assisted software development tools responsibly to improve productivity and quality on assigned work (e.g. generating test ideas, drafting documentation, summarising logs and exploring implementation options), and validate outputs through testing and code review before release.

• Build and enhance features across the Centro platform (front end, back end and APIs).

• Assist with the delivery of Centro 2.0 initiatives and funded enhancements (e.g. the Customer Register and related compliance tools).

• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve defects; contribute to reducing support tickets through root-cause fixes.

• Write clean, maintainable code and follow agreed engineering practices, including Git workflows, code reviews and documentation.

• Contribute to testing (unit and integration), UAT support and regression testing for releases.

• Collaborate with Product and Support to prioritise work and communicate progress, risks and blockers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience building web applications across the front end and back end (professional experience or a strong portfolio).

• Demonstrated ability to use AI-assisted development tools responsibly, validate outputs through testing and code review, and protect confidential or sensitive information.

• Working knowledge of modern JavaScript or TypeScript and a front-end framework (e.g. Angular, React or Vue).

• Experience with server-side development (e.g. .NET, Node.js or similar) and building or consuming APIs.

• Comfortable with relational databases and SQL.

• Familiarity with Git workflows and participation in code reviews.

• A quality mindset: testing, debugging and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team.

Desirable:

• Experience working with Angular 22, .NET10, Postgres 18

• Experience with CI/CD (e.g., Gitlab CI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Azure DevOps) and/or cloud platforms (Azure preferred).

• Experience writing automated tests (unit/integration/e2e) using Playwright or others.

• Experience working with regulated industries (NDIS, aged care, healthcare) or compliance tooling.

• Experience working with telemetric tools and agentic recovery processes.

• Experience creating native mobile applications
