Junior full-stack developer - e-commerce platform

About the Role

Our client, a leading e-commerce solutions provider, is looking for bright and enthusiastic Junior Full-Stack Developers to join their growing technology team in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa Zulu-Natal. This role is perfect for recent graduates or individuals with a couple of years of development experience who are eager to build and enhance robust online platforms. You will work on both front-end and back-end development, contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of innovative e-commerce features and functionalities. This is a hands-on role where you can significantly impact the user experience and contribute to the success of our client's digital offerings.

Key Responsibilities Develop, test, and deploy scalable and efficient code for both front-end and back-end systems. Collaborate with senior developers and designers to translate business requirements into functional web applications. Assist in the design and implementation of user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks. Contribute to the development and maintenance of APIs and database structures. Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers. Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software. Learn and apply best practices in software development, security, and performance optimization. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools. Work within an agile development methodology, participating in sprint planning and stand-up meetings. Requirements A recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Proficiency in at least one modern Java Script framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js). Solid understanding of back-end development languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python/Django, Java/Spring). Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL (e.g., Postgre SQL, My SQL) and/or No SQL (e.g., Mongo DB). Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong problem-solving skills and a keen interest in learning new technologies. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Pietermaritzburg, Kwa Zulu-Natal.
