Junior Full Stack Developer (NodeJS & ReactJS) - with BA exposure - GS26011

Overview

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role (subject to extension).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using NodeJS and ReactJS under the guidance of senior team members.
• Assist in translating business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs.
• Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving application issues.
• Perform unit testing and support integration and user acceptance testing.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA Engineers, UI/UX Designers, and DevOps engineers.
• Engage with business/agency users to gather and clarify requirements where assigned to configuration or BA-adjacent work.
• Assist in maintaining application performance, security, and scalability.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Fresh graduates are welcome; up to 1 year of experience is preferred. Internship, final-year projects, or personal projects using NodeJS and ReactJS will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Basic knowledge of ReactJS, NodeJS, and ExpressJS.
• Understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Basic knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) is an advantage.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus.

Soft Skills

• Strong willingness to learn and continuously improve technical skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable engaging with business users and gathering requirements over time.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude, comfortable operating with some ambiguity.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
