You’ll build and maintain features across an e-commerce website and back-office admin, including product pages, checkout, promotions, vouchers, loyalty and rewards. You’ll fix bugs reported by customer service, marketing and retail teams, and keep the site stable through high-traffic periods. You’ll work with internal APIs and third-party integrations including payment gateways, courier and shipping providers, POS/inventory, WhatsApp and email marketing tools, and analytics pixels. You’ll support the campaign calendar by shipping landing pages, banners, discount rules and sale mechanics on deadline. You’ll write clean, readable code and document what you build. You’ll help monitor site performance, page speed and uptime, and flag problems before customers do. You’ll work directly with non-technical colleagues in marketing, operations and retail to turn business requests into working solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain features across e-commerce website and back-office admin — product pages, checkout, promotions, vouchers, loyalty and rewards
- Fix bugs reported by customer service, marketing and retail teams
- Keep the site stable through high-traffic periods like Raya and Mega Sale campaigns
- Work with internal APIs and third-party integrations: payment gateways, courier and shipping providers, POS/inventory, WhatsApp and email marketing tools, and analytics pixels
- Support the campaign calendar — landing pages, banners, discount rules and sale mechanics that marketing needs shipped on a deadline
- Write clean, readable code and document what you build
- Monitor site performance, page speed and uptime, and flag problems before customers do
- Work directly with non-technical colleagues in marketing, operations and retail to turn business requests into working solutions
About you
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience
- 1–2 years of hands‑on web development, including internship, freelance or serious personal projects
- Backend: at least one server‑side language (PHP, Node.js, Python or similar) and relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) — able to write your own queries
- Working knowledge of Git and branch‑based collaboration
- Understanding of how REST APIs work, and experience consuming or building one
- Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia with non‑technical teammates
- Based in or willing to work from Kuala Lumpur
- Any e-commerce platform experience — PrestaShop, Laravel, WooCommerce, Magento, Shopify or a custom‑built store (nice to have)
- Experience with payment gateways (iPay88, Billplz, Stripe, PayPal) or Malaysian courier APIs (nice to have)
