Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Angular/Node - Three.js Focus)

Open 20d

Summary

Builds an Angular-based 3D clinical viewer using Three.js for dental scans, with a thin Node/Express API and SQLite backend, while collaborating in a fast-moving medtech startup.

πŸš€ Project Description

From the engineering side, this role is focused on Frontend + Three.js 3D visualization as the primary skillset, with Full-Stack (Angular/Node) as a secondary skillset. You'll work on our Angular SPA that renders interactive clinical 3D scan viewers (jaw mesh cleanup, ML segmentation overlays, tooth landmark editing, 2D/3D arch setup) backed by a thin Express + SQLite API.

βœ… You are:

  • Have practical experience from commercial projects, pet projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions
  • Confident with JavaScript/TypeScript and a component framework (Angular preferred; React/Vue okay)
  • Have hands-on experience with Three.js or raw WebGL (scenes, cameras, geometries, materials, raycasting)
  • Comfortable consuming and building REST APIs
  • Understand reactive/state patterns (RxJS or equivalent) and component-based architecture
  • Have some backend experience (Node.js/Express or similar)
  • Familiar with Git workflows, code review, and writing basic tests

βž• Will be a plus:

  • Experience with mesh manipulation, BVH raycasting (e.g. `three-mesh-bvh`), or CAD/3D-viewer tooling
  • Familiarity with WebGL shaders/GLSL
  • Experience with SQLite or other embedded/lightweight databases
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized local dev stacks
  • Experience with Karma/Jasmine and/or Playwright
  • Interest or background in medtech, healthcare, or scientific/CAD visualization
  • Comfortable working with AI platforms and developer tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex

β™ŸοΈ What We Expect from You:

  • Use modern AI tools, frameworks, and approaches to work faster and more effectively
  • Make practical decisions that help us launch faster without unnecessary overengineering
  • Proactively flag rendering/performance issues and UX gaps, and propose fixes
  • Be comfortable working in an evolving product with changing priorities and early-stage ambiguity

πŸ”‘ Responsibilities:

  • Build and enhance Three.js-based clinical viewers (scan cleanup, segmentation, tooth landmarks, 2D/3D occlusal arch setup)
  • Implement Angular components and services following existing project conventions
  • Contribute to the Express API (routes/services/repositories) when a feature needs full-stack changes
  • Write and maintain unit (Karma/Jasmine) and end-to-end (Playwright) tests for new workflow states
  • Actively collaborate with the team lead and team
  • Utilize AI to review pull requests and contribute to engineering best practices

🍩 What we offer:

  • Opportunity to work on an innovative product in the medical-tech domain
  • High ownership and direct impact on product UX and technical decisions
  • Flexible work hours within the European time zone
  • A fast-moving environment where strong engineers can influence product and technical decisions
  • Paid 200$+ AI assistants and modern engineering tooling
  • Professional development support, latest courses and certifications
  • 20 business days of vacation
  • 5 sick leave days
  • National holidays covered
