Junior HR Operations Specialist - Mandarin Speaking
You will support end-to-end HR operations by coordinating onboarding and offboarding, maintaining accurate employee records, responding to routine HR enquiries, supporting payroll and administration, collaborating on systems access and new-hire setup, maintaining operational documentation, and identifying process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Support onboarding by preparing employment contracts, setting up HR systems and accounts, and coordinating with relevant parties
- Assist with offboarding and termination processes, including asset returns, system updates, and final payments or benefits
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HR information systems
- Respond to employee enquiries about HR policies, benefits, systems, and tools
- Support payroll, Employment Relations, and administration tasks
- Review HR operations processes, identify recurring issues, and help implement workflow improvements
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, and other cross-functional teams on systems access, equipment provisioning, and new-hire setup
- Maintain SOPs, process flows, HR systems user guides, and employee and manager FAQs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field
- 1+ years’ experience in HR, HR operations, HR administration, or a customer-service environment, including internships
- Basic understanding of onboarding, offboarding, record-keeping, benefits, and payroll
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English in written and verbal communication
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional and responsive customer service mindset
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to suggest practical improvements
- Experience with HRIS or HCM systems, preferably Employment Hero
- Familiarity with local employment or labour law
- Exposure to process improvement or operations
- HR certification or training, or progress toward certification
