About the Role

Kick-start your IT career with one of Australia's largest not-for-profit organisations. Based at our Southport Head Office, this is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to gain hands-on experience across IT operations, asset management, procurement support, and technology lifecycle management.

Reporting to the ITS Operations Manager, the Junior IT Asset Officer plays an important role in supporting the management of IT hardware and software assets across the organisation. You'll work closely with the broader IT team to ensure asset information is accurate, equipment is tracked throughout its lifecycle, and staff are supported with onboarding and offboarding equipment requirements.

This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys administration, organisation, technology and process improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

You will support the day-to-day management of IT assets and equipment across the organisation, including:

  • Maintaining accurate records within asset management systems and databases
  • Receiving, tagging, storing, allocating and retiring IT equipment
  • Supporting employee onboarding, offboarding and internal transfers
  • Assisting with stocktakes, asset audits and reconciliations
  • Preparing devices and accessories for deployment
  • Assisting with procurement activities, including purchase requests and order tracking
  • Maintaining warranty, repair and supplier records
  • Supporting software licence tracking and renewal activities
  • Responding to routine asset-related enquiries from employees and stakeholders
  • Working with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth asset lifecycle management processes

This is a 6 month full time, fixed term contract, based in our Southport office with potential extension based on business needs.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll be organised, proactive and eager to learn. You will bring:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • A genuine interest in technology and IT operations
  • Confidence working with records, spreadsheets and data
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Customer-focused communication skills
  • The ability to follow processes and work collaboratively with others
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Up to 1 year of experience in IT support, administration, inventory, logistics or a similar environment
  • A Certificate III or IV in Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field (or willingness to work towards one)
  • A current driver's licence
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Blue Card
