Junior Java Backend Engineer

Salary: RM 5,000 – RM 5,500 per month

Job Overview

We are looking for a Mid-Level Java Backend Engineer to take ownership of backend services supporting our financial trading systems and self-developed CRM platform.

You will be responsible for designing and developing CRM systems, MT4/MT5 trading data integrations, payment gateway services, and internal APIs, while ensuring system performance, security, scalability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead backend design and development for self-developed CRM systems supporting customer lifecycle, trading activities and internal operations.

• Design and maintain MT4/MT5 trading system integrations, including:

  • Account and user data

  • Trade, order, position and balance data

  • Real-time and historical data synchronization

• Design and develop payment gateway integrations, covering top-up, withdrawals, callbacks/webhooks, reconciliation and exception handling.

• Develop internal and external APIs for marketing campaigns, promotions, bonuses, rewards and business projects.

• Develop, maintain and optimize Java / Spring Cloud microservices.

• Ensure high concurrency, low latency and high availability across trading and CRM platforms.

• Optimize backend performance through thread pool/concurrency tuning, JVM and database optimization, caching and asynchronous processing.

• Work closely with DevOps, Operations, Risk and Product teams to deliver reliable backend services.

• Conduct code reviews, establish development standards and mentor junior engineers.

• Troubleshoot production issues and lead system refactoring and performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.

• 1–3 years of Java backend development experience, preferably in FinTech, financial services or trading systems.

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Java concurrency and multithreading

  • JVM performance tuning

  • Distributed system design

• Hands-on experience with Spring Cloud / Microservices.

• Strong experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL, including complex SQL optimization, index design and large-table handling.

• Practical experience with Redis, including distributed locks and caching strategies.

• Practical experience with Kafka, including reliability and throughput optimization.

• Good understanding of payment gateway integration, security and callback/webhook processing.

• Strong system ownership, troubleshooting and architectural thinking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating MT4 / MT5 trading systems.

• Familiarity with CRM systems or customer lifecycle platforms.

• Understanding of trading order lifecycle, settlement and risk control.

• Experience developing marketing, activity, bonus or reward-based systems.

• Knowledge of financial compliance and data security standards.

• Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading backend development teams.
