Junior Java Developer
Kickstart your engineering career on a business-critical banking application, built with Java, Spring Boot, and running on Microsoft Azure.
You'll join our in-house engineering team in Rotterdam, working alongside experienced engineers across the full software delivery lifecycle, from writing code to deploying and monitoring it in the cloud.

What you'll do:
- Build and enhance apps in Java & Spring Boot
- Design, build and consume REST APIs
- Write unit tests and support automated testing
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Azure deployments
- Debug, investigate and help resolve production issues
- Join code reviews, Agile ceremonies & team discussions
- Work closely with devs, testers, analysts & cloud specialists
- Pick up Trade Finance domain knowledge along the way
What we're looking for:
- Recently completed (or finishing) a degree in CS, IT, Software Engineering or related field
- Foundation in Java or another OOP language
- Solid grasp of OOP, collections, exception handling, data structures
- Basic understanding of APIs and web apps
- Familiarity with Git
- Genuine curiosity about cloud tech and modern engineering practices
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to ask questions
Bonus points for:
Spring Boot, Maven, SQL, JUnit, Azure (or any cloud), Docker, Kubernetes, Python, CI/CD tools, microservices, or Agile/DevOps experience
