We are seeking a Junior Legal Consultant to support our Legal, Bid, and Program teams with contract administration, bid support, and legal coordination activities related to European-funded programs, consortium-based initiatives, and commercial transactions.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an early-career legal professional interested in developing expertise in commercial contracts, European funding programs, intellectual property matters, and cross-border business relationships. Working closely with experienced legal professionals and business stakeholders, the successful candidate will help coordinate legal documentation, support contract reviews, and ensure legal processes are executed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities
Legal & Program Support
· Support the Legal Counsel and Bid teams with legal and contractual activities related to European-funded programs and consortium initiatives.
· Assist with the review and preparation of legal documentation associated with bids, grants, and funded projects.
· Conduct legal and contractual research on funding requirements, contractual obligations, and program guidelines as directed by Legal Counsel.
· Assist in reviewing consortium structures, governance arrangements, intellectual property provisions, and data-sharing requirements.
· Help identify contractual issues and escalate potential legal risks to senior legal stakeholders.
· Support compliance with applicable contractual, procurement, and funding requirements.
Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
· Serve as a day-to-day coordinator between Legal, Program Management, Bid teams, and external partners.
· Support communications with consortium partners, subcontractors, universities, research institutes, and customers regarding legal documentation and contractual requirements.
· Assist in preparing documentation and materials for meetings, negotiations, and project reviews.
· Track open legal action items and follow up with stakeholders to support timely completion of deliverables.
· Help facilitate collaboration across internal teams and external partners throughout the bid and project lifecycle.
Contract Administration & Documentation
· Draft, review, and administer standard legal agreements under the supervision of Legal Counsel, including:
o Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
o Teaming Agreements
o Consortium Agreements
o Subcontractor Agreements
o Partner Agreements
o Grant-related documentation
o Commercial contracts and amendments
· Maintain and organize contract documentation, repositories, and version control records.
· Track contract status, approvals, signatures, and key deliverables.
· Assist with gathering eligibility documentation and supporting materials required for bid submissions.
· Ensure contractual records are accurately maintained and accessible.
Global Legal Team Support
· Support the Global Legal Team with contract administration and coordination activities across a variety of commercial agreements.
· Assist with the preparation and processing of:
o NDAs
o Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)
o Reseller Agreements
o Partner Agreements
o Subcontractor Agreements
o Teaming Agreements
o Other standard commercial contracts
· Coordinate internal approval workflows and contract execution processes.
· Maintain legal records and support contract lifecycle management activities.
· Assist with special legal and commercial projects as needed.
Qualifications
Required
· Law degree (LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent).
· Approximately 1-3 years of experience in a legal, contract management, legal operations, paralegal, or commercial law environment.
· Exposure to business law, commercial contracts, corporate law, procurement, or contract administration.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
· Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across international teams.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
Preferred
· Experience supporting commercial contracts, bid activities, or procurement processes.
· Exposure to European-funded programs, grants, public procurement, or consortium-based projects.
· Understanding of intellectual property, confidentiality agreements, and commercial contracting principles.
· Additional European language skills are beneficial.
· Based in Belgium
