Junior Legal Counsel

We are looking for an ambitious Junior Legal Counsel ready to join our fast-growing team.

This role offers immediate exposure to complex corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory matters. You will combine sharp legal acumen with business insight to protect our operations and help us Make It Happen globally. Location: St Julian's, Malta

Responsibilities:

  • Support in the drafting, review, and negotiation of a vast range of commercial contracts including game provider and sportsbook agreements, payment services agreements, as well as agreements related to marketing, security and information technology, privacy and data protection amongst others.
  • Partner with the Legal Team to advise and assist on corporate law matters within a multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Conduct preliminary legal research into specific multi-national regulatory requirements and summarize legal and regulatory developments to support the Legal Team in preparing internal training materials and advice for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the collection of documents and assist with initial review during due diligence processes, and support the Legal Team in the documentation of risk management policies.
  • Support the Legal Team by flagging potential legal issues during the planning stages of business projects and drafting initial legal inputs to ensure commercial objectives align with established legal guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development/updates, and maintenance of a wide range of policies and procedures in collaboration with the key stakeholders, under guidance.
  • Support with the business Intellectual Property Rights portfolio including handling the registration and maintenance of trademarks and domains.
  • Contribute to and drive the adoption and ethical use of generative AI tools within the Legal team, creating internal best practices for research, drafting, and document analysis.

About you:

  • Law degree (LLB, Master’s in Law, or equivalent) from a recognised EU university.
  • Foundational knowledge of corporate, commercial, and contract law and IP law is a strong asset.
  • You are very detail oriented, highly organised, efficient, and take ownership of your work.
  • Strong work ethic and proven ability to multitask, prioritise and follow through on numerous assignments simultaneously (a Make it Happen attitude).
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment (Run Together) and independently. You possess a positive outlook and can-do attitude, bringing creative and out-of-the-box thinking to challenges.
  • iGaming experience would be an asset but is not a requirement.
