Junior Platform engineer - Python/Javascript
Summary
Maintains and troubleshoots cloud and on-premises infrastructure, deploys cloud resources, and supports CI/CD pipelines using TypeScript/Node.js, Python, and DevOps tools.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments.
- Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and availability.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patch management.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and participate in incident resolution.
- Assist in deploying and managing cloud resources in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Help optimize cloud resource utilization and costs.
- Maintain platform documentation and operational procedures.
- Work closely with application teams to support platform requirements.
- Participate in technical discussions, troubleshooting sessions, and project implementations.
- Document solutions, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Skills Requirement
- Bachelors degree in Engineering/Information Technology/Computer science
- 2-3 years of experience in relevant field
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript (TS) / Node.js; exposure to Python is an added advantage.
- Comfortable working across multiple technologies, including Spring Boot / Java, Maven, .NET, Docker, Jib, Helm, GitLab CI
- Good knowledge of GitLab CI, including Pipelines, Runners, Caching & Artifacts
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging capabilities in CI/CD environments, including:
- Identifying flaky versus genuine failures
- Resolving runner and environment-related issues.
Good understanding of Git, including: - Conflict resolution, Rebase and interactive rebase
- Commit hygiene, Merge Request (MR) workflows
- Branching strategies, Reflog, cherry-pick, revert recovery
- Git bisect, Force-push decision making, Monorepo Git practices (worktrees, sparse-checkout).
Good to Have
- Experience with on-call support and incident response.
- Prior exposure to Developer Platform Engineering.
- Experience in developing or supporting internal engineering tools and platforms.
