Junior Portfolio Manager
We are looking to add to our current team and are seeking a highly motivated Junior Portfolio Manager to support the Lead Portfolio Manager in managing the Company's multi-asset investment portfolio. While the role encompasses all asset classes, there will be a particular emphasis on managing the listed equities trading book. This position is well suited to candidates with experience in equity research, portfolio management and active buy-side equity investing who are keen to broaden their exposure to institutional multi-asset investing.
Key Responsibilities
I) Portfolio Management·
- Support the implementation of the Company's Investment Policy Statements and Strategic Asset Allocation across the Group's investment entities.
- Monitor portfolio exposures, risk metrics and asset allocation, and recommend portfolio rebalancing where appropriate.
- Participate in managing investments across various assets including equities, fixed income, private equity, directs, venture capital, hedge funds and other alternative investments.
- Evaluate investment proposals received from banks, fund managers and external advisers.
- Monitor macroeconomic trends, interest rate developments, geopolitical events and financial markets that may impact portfolio positioning.
- Conduct & evaluate manager selection, monitor and periodically review bank portfolios, external investment managers etc.
- Prepare & present monthly investment reviews, portfolio performance attribution, risk analysis and stock/sector reports for the Investment Committee and Management.
II) Listed Equities Research & Trading
- Generate investment ideas through independent research, as well as evaluate opportunities introduced by private banks, brokers and external investment managers.
- Analyze company fundamentals, valuations, earnings, market sentiment and macroeconomic developments together with technical analysis to identify attractive tactical opportunities to trade.
- Execute equity trades in accordance with approved investment strategies, mandates and internal controls.
- Actively monitor portfolio positions in conjunction with market developments and recommend portfolio adjustments, position sizing and rebalancing to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
- CFA Level II candidate or above would be an advantage.
- 3 - 5 years' relevant experience in investment advisory, portfolio management, equity research or asset management.
- Good understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk management and performance attribution.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing, recommending and/or actively managing listed equity investments.
- Hands-on experience executing equity trades and managing trading positions would be highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate investment recommendations clearly and confidently.
- Self-motivated, intellectually curious and able to work independently in a lean investment team.
- Remuneration will be commensurate with relevant experience.
Other Information
- This is an office-based role. The successful candidate is expected to work on-site during normal business hours.
