Discussion

Description

Job Overview:

Support engineering and technical-office activities by preparing and coordinating accurate technical deliverables for CHP/CCHP, gas-to-power, diesel-to-power, and hybrid PV/BESS projects, while analyzing problems, identifying missing technical information, challenging assumptions, and developing practical engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Responsibilities

  • Review tender documents, RFPs, and project specifications; identify technical requirements, interfaces, compliance gaps, clarifications, assumptions, exclusions, and deviations.
  • Analyze project inputs, identify missing or inconsistent technical information, challenge assumptions, and raise clarifications with senior engineers before proceeding.
  • Prepare and support technical proposals for gas- and diesel-fired generator systems, CHP/CCHP plants, and hybrid power solutions incorporating PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS), ncluding technical descriptions, system configurations, and scope definitions.
  • Perform electrical calculations and equipment selection, including load analysis and generator capacity, transformer, LV/MV distribution, cable, breaker, auxiliary load, and voltage-drop sizing, documenting inputs, assumptions, and results clearly, under senior-engineer guidance.
  • Prepare and review single-line diagrams (SLDs) and related electrical drawings using AutoCAD, including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnection drawings for LV/MV systems, switchgear, generators, and transformers.
  • Support reviews of generator control and protection interfaces, synchronization, metering, grid connection, and power-quality requirements where applicable to the project.
  • Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and equipment data sheets for electrical and power generation equipment and packages.
  • Prepare RFQs and technical inquiry packages and issue them to vendors and suppliers in coordination with procurement.
  • Evaluate vendor offers and quotations and participate in technical bid evaluations, prepare comparison sheets and clarification lists and highlight deviations, gaps, and risks.
  • Review supplier documents, including datasheets, drawings, calculations, and submittals, for compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and requirements.
  • Develop practical engineering solutions and alternatives for technical issues, supported by clear calculations and reasoning.
  • Check that designs and installations comply with applicable standards, codes, safety regulations, project specifications, and company quality requirements.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces with electrical, mechanical, civil, controls, business development, procurement, project management, construction, commissioning, and operations teams, and follow up on technical queries and action items.
  • Track project activities, schedules, deliverables, and action items using Microsoft Project or equivalent software; report delays, risks, and technical issues to senior engineers.
  • Organize, maintain, and update technical documents, including calculations, specifications, reports, test records, drawing registers, revisions, and vendor correspondence, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
  • Assist with quality-control plans, inspections, testing, FAT/SAT activities, site visits, commissioning, and troubleshooting, and prepare reports documenting field conditions and deviations.
  • Maintain awareness of CHP/CCHP, gas engines, PV, BESS, and hybrid power technologies and relevant engineering standards; attend training and recommend practical improvements to Technical Office processes and deliverable quality
