Junior Product & Quality Engineer – Bicycle Components (m/f/d)
Description
Your Responsibilities
As a key link between European R&D, quality management, and our Asian production partners, you will support our team and step-by-step grow into full ownership of your domain, reporting directly to our German CTO and the German Product Management team:
Engineering & Design: You assist in and gradually take on the engineering of bicycle components (frames, carriers, fenders, etc.), creating 3D and 2D CAD designs aligned with European Product Management guidelines.
Prototyping & Hands-on: You build prototypes and test bikes, gaining a deep hands-on understanding of bike technology and industry standards. You leverage our 3D printers and office workshop to quickly turn ideas into reality.
Supplier Management & DFM: You learn to interface effectively with international suppliers, supporting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and component optimization for mass production.
SOPs & Process Guidelines: You help create clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for suppliers and ensure guidelines are understood and executed smoothly.
On-Site Presence: You are close to the action. During production phases, you visit local suppliers directly and occasionally travel within Asia (e.g., Vietnam, China) alongside senior team members.
Quality & Compliance: You support product compliance procedures with external service providers and help monitor quality standards at supplier sites.
Operational QC & Audits: You assist with production audits and are responsible for simple operational quality control (Dimensional QC, Paint QC), learning to guide external service providers and document results using our templates.
Problem-Solving (CAPA): You help analyze QC results, track root causes of deviations, and support the implementation of effective countermeasures.
Data & Processes: You work cross-functionally, learn to process detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), and maintain technical data in our ERP system.
Your Profile
Growth Mindset First: Don't check every single box above? Don't worry! If you cover 30%–40% of the full scope, we strongly encourage you to apply. We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We provide structured on-the-job training and will actively develop your career based on your personal strengths and interests!
We are looking for an ambitious talent who fits culturally into our high-speed environment:
Mindset & Drive: You are self-motivated, proactive, and bring an autodidactic mindset—you don't know "I can't do that," only "I can't do that yet." You are open-minded, unafraid to ask questions, highly precise, and eager to learn fast.
Technical Background: A completed degree (Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Two-Wheeler Technology) or comparable technical training. Prior internship experience or personal enthusiasm for the bicycle industry is a big plus.
CAD Foundation: Solid basic skills in 3D & 2D CAD modeling (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar). You are eager to deepen your knowledge in advanced surfacing and solid body design.
Documentation & Detail: You are diligent, proactive, and organized in maintaining technical documentation, ERP data, and file structures.
Languages & Communication: You speak fluent Chinese and possess good to fluent business English.
Quality Interest: A strong interest in manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and data-driven problem-solving.
Flexibility & Willingness to Travel: You are excited about working directly on production lines and traveling within Asia to learn from suppliers and partners.
