Job Summary
Coordinate procurement activities for construction materials, manage purchase orders and inventory, and support project documentation to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective sourcing.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with project and site teams to manage the purchase of construction materials, ensuring alignment with project requirements
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive quotations for construction materials
- Generate and issue purchase orders, monitor their progress, and follow up to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Monitor inventory reports to maintain adequate stock levels and support project timelines
- Record and manage project variation orders and handle documentation for ad-hoc projects as assigned
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation related to procurement and project materials
Required competencies and certifications
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word to manage procurement data and documentation
- Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and services to support effective sourcing and cost control
- Basic accounting and cost accounting skills to assist in budget management and cost tracking
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and project teams
- Negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and pricing from vendors
- Self-motivated with commitment to teamwork and collaboration
- Professional work attitude demonstrating integrity and reliability
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in construction procurement or related roles
