JUNIOR QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST
Summary
Junior QA analyst testing Bizbox's healthcare and business software: writing and executing test cases, logging defects, running regression tests, validating data accuracy, and supporting client UAT, with a senior reviewing the work. Needs ~6 months of testing experience, defect-tracking tools (JIRA/Azure DevOps), basic SQL and API knowledge; automation exposure is a plus.
Junior Quality Assurance Analyst, IT Department
Tests our healthcare and business software before it reaches a client. This role suits someone who has already done real testing work and wants to go deeper. You will own your own test assignments early, with a senior reviewing your work.
Qualifications
BS Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. At least 6 months of software testing experience, including internship or on the job training with real software. Detail oriented, methodical, and able to explain findings clearly in writing to both technical and non-technical people. Willing to be guided and to ask questions.
Responsibilities
Write test cases from the approved requirements and acceptance criteria and have them reviewed before execution.
Execute functional testing on new features and fixes, and confirm each one behaves as specified.
Log defects clearly with steps to reproduce, expected result, actual result, and evidence, then retest once fixed.
Perform regression testing to confirm that new changes did not break existing functions.
Validate data accuracy across the screens, the reports, and the records the system saves.
Test across the supported browsers and screen sizes, including error states, empty states, and validation messages.
Trace a wrong figure or a wrong record back to where it came from, instead of only reporting that it looks wrong.
Coordinate daily with developers and business analysts, and explain clearly what was found and how to reproduce it.
Support user acceptance testing with clients.
Learn and contribute to our automated regression tests.
Expected System Knowledge
Has written and executed test cases on a real project, not only in a classroom.
Has used a defect tracking tool such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar.
Understands the software development life cycle and how testing fits into an Agile sprint.
Comfortable with web applications and browser developer tools, and able to read a simple error message.
Basic understanding of databases and able to run simple SELECT queries to confirm what was saved.
Basic understanding of APIs and how a screen talks to a server. Experience with Postman is an advantage.
Exposure to test automation such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress is an advantage but not required. Training will be provided.
Strong Excel skills for test data preparation and tracking.
Able to write clear, step by step documentation.
