Junior-Regular Automation QA Engineer

Summary

Builds and runs Java/Selenium automation suites for web apps, integrates tests into CI/CD, and performs manual testing as part of an Agile QA team for a manufacturing client.

Project description

QA engineering team supporting a long-running product line for an international manufacturing client. The team owns functional and regression coverage for web-based applications, maintains a Java/Selenium automation framework, and runs automated suites as part of the CI/CD pipeline. Work is organised in Agile/Scrum with distributed teams; the engineer collaborates directly with developers, BAs and product owners on requirement clarification, test design and defect triage. Delivery is from Bangalore in a hybrid model.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain automation test frameworks using Java and Selenium WebDriver
  • Create, execute and maintain automated scripts for functional, regression and smoke testing
  • Perform manual testing — functional, integration, system and UAT
  • Build automation solutions on TestNG/JUnit; apply Page Object Model and data-driven testing
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar)
  • Work with developers, product owners and business analysts to clarify requirements
  • Conduct API testing using Rest Assured, Postman or equivalent
  • Identify, document and track defects in JIRA / Azure DevOps
  • Review test cases and give feedback to junior team members
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily standups and retrospectives; report testing progress

SKILLS

Must have

  • 3–5 years in software testing (automation and manual). Java (Core Java, OOP concepts) Selenium WebDriver TestNG or JUnit Maven Git Basic Jenkins / CI/CD awareness API testing — Postman, Rest Assured HTML, CSS, XPath/CSS selectors Basic SQL for database validation Manual testing: SDLC/STLC, test cases and scenarios, JIRA / Bugzilla, functional, regression, integration testin
