Junior/Senior Executive, Portfolio Management
Summary
Analyzes and manages venture capital, private equity, and direct investments, preparing reports and supporting due diligence and portfolio monitoring for a corporate investment team.
1. Portfolio Management
• Monitor and analyse the performance of venture capital funds, private equity funds, direct investments, joint venture companies, and selected listed equity investments.
• Prepare quarterly investment reports, valuation analysis, portfolio updates, cashflow projections, and presentation materials for Management and the Board.
• Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasts, variance analysis, and investment cashflow planning.
2. Due Diligence & Execution
• Conduct due diligence on venture capital funds, private equity funds, private credit funds, and direct investment opportunities.
• Review data room materials, fund documents, financial statements, market research, references, and portfolio updates.
• Prepare Investment Memos covering investment summary, market opportunity, key risks, target returns, and key considerations.
• Support investment execution, including documentation review, IC approval preparation, and closing coordination.
3. Business Analysis & Digital Transformation
• Assist in business analysis of joint venture companies, including financial performance, operating metrics, budgets, forecasts, business outlook, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards, databases, reporting templates, and analytics tools.
• Leverage software, data analytics, and AI tools to improve investment research, portfolio monitoring, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
4. Stakeholder Management
• Liaise with fund managers, portfolio companies, joint venture partners, banks, custodians, legal advisers, technology vendors, and internal departments.
• Support GP meetings, annual meetings, portfolio reviews, and follow-up action items.
• Maintain high integrity and discretion in handling confidential investment, financial, business, and portfolio information.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or an accounting background.
• Relevant experience in venture capital, with strong preference for candidates with a Venture Capital (VC) background. Experience in private equity, private credit, fund-of-funds, corporate finance, asset management or portfolio management will also be considered.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to interpret financial statements, fund reports, valuation reports, investment performance data, and business operating metrics.
• Meticulous, analytical, and detail-oriented, with strong ownership of work quality, deadlines, and continuous improvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and presentation materials for senior stakeholders.
• Able to work independently while also contributing effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
