Junior Software Engineer (Fresh graduates are welcome to apply)

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve our existing mobile applications and web platforms. You will also have the opportunity to gradually expand your skills into AI development, data processing, and embedded firmware development for our exoskeleton products.

Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Prior experience in AI or firmware development is not required. You will work closely with experienced engineers who will provide hands-on guidance and technical training.
We do not expect you to know everything from day one. What matters most to us is your willingness to learn, attention to detail, sense of responsibility, and motivation to grow as an engineer.

Key Responsibilities

App & Web Development

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve existing mobile applications and web platforms.

• Identify and resolve software bugs, performance issues, and compatibility problems.

• Support the implementation of new features and improvements based on product and business requirements.

• Coordinate with external developers or vendors when required for system maintenance and development.

• Maintain clear and organized source code, technical documentation, and development records.

AI & Data Development

• Assist the engineering team with AI-related product development and experimentation.

• Support data collection, cleaning, organization, labelling, and preparation for AI development.

• Assist in testing and evaluating AI models and AI-powered product features.

• Work with experienced engineers to integrate AI-related functions into StepExo products.

• Explore and learn new AI technologies that may improve product performance and user experience.

Prior AI development experience is not required. Training and guidance will be provided.

Firmware & Product Development

• Assist with firmware development, testing, debugging, and maintenance for embedded systems.

• Support software and firmware integration with sensors, electronics, and other hardware components.

• Assist in product testing, troubleshooting, and technical issue investigation.

• Work alongside experienced engineers and gradually take ownership of firmware development tasks.

• Participate in the development and testing of real-world robotics products.

Prior firmware development experience is not required. Training and guidance will be provided.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.

• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

• Basic programming knowledge and a good understanding of software development fundamentals.

• Familiarity with web or mobile application development through coursework, personal projects, internships, or work experience.

• Strong interest in learning AI, embedded systems, firmware, robotics, and new technologies.

• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Detail-oriented and careful when handling development, testing, and technical documentation.

• Strong willingness to learn and continuously improve technical skills.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.

• Able to learn unfamiliar technologies with guidance from experienced engineers.

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Good to Have

The following skills are advantages, but not mandatory requirements:

• Experience with mobile application development (iOS, Android, or cross-platform frameworks).

• Experience with front-end or back-end web development.

• Knowledge of Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, C / C++, or similar programming languages.

• Exposure to AI or Machine Learning.

• Experience with data processing, dataset preparation, or data analysis.

• Basic knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, or firmware development.

• Experience with Git or other version control systems.

• Interest in robotics, wearable technology, IoT, embedded systems, or consumer electronics.
