Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Software Engineer to join our team in Manila, Philippines. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent time-management and interpersonal skills, and a passion for developing fast and scalable websites. The candidate should be able to design and develop intuitive user interfaces that meet business requirements using Vue and other client-side libraries. Candidates must have experience with all levels of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for enterprise level applications.
This role is full-time and hybrid based out of our Manila office, with regular in-person attendance three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies (Grooming, Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives).
- Design, develop and maintain the UX for various applications in an Agile environment
- Ensure responsive implementation
- Help write new design patterns, improve and adapt existing design component integration
- Ensure implementation is globalized
- Contribute to the architecture, design and coding of our next generation web-based enterprise solutions
- Implement UI component design focused on re-usability / scalability / extensibility
- Collaborate with fellow developers, designers and analysts to solve problems
- Assist in the deployment of releases and patches into the production environment
- Be available out-of-business hours for production support on a rotational basis
- Managing teams and mentoring team members and enabling them to progress in their careers
Qualifications:
- Degree in computer science or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in software development. Experience using the following technologies and methodologies:
Core:
- AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Co-Pilot)
- Java, Spring Boot
- Vue
- AWS fundamentals: S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, IAM basics
- Git workflow
- Unit testing framework experience
Nice-to-have:
- Docker basics; has seen a CI/CD pipeline run
- Any C#/Azure exposure
- Experience with OAuth and OpenID
- Experience with API services
- Knowledge of Dependency Injection and writing testable code
- Experience implementing features in applications by leveraging design patterns
- Strong documentation and communication skills
