Visual Components is an international company. We are headquartered in Espoo, Finland, but we have offices in Tampere Finland, the US, and Germany, along with a global partner network of partners and resellers. The Visual Components team is truly multinational - we have people from over 22 countries, and we speak at least 12 languages! We are looking for a Junior Software QA Engineer to join our QA Team and to reinforce our team working on renewing the Visual Components platform and building future-proof features that will enable our product to grow.

The team members work as members of the software development teams and have their own QA team’s development goals. The QA team members share tasks to encourage learning in different areas and to make the team(s) more adaptable. The software development teams use Scrum and comprise of developers, a testing engineer, and a product owner. The main tasks in our QA are:
- Testingand feature verification.
- Developing scriptsand test datafor e.g., UI test automationor our other tooling.
- Developing testing practices and collaborating with developers. Software developers will still be writing their unit tests and other test automation.
Skills important for this role:
- While we expect you to have experience in some of the areas below, we do not expect you to be an expert in everythinglisted below.
- Experience with PLC programming, including Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), and Sequential Function Chart (SFC), as well as hands-on experience with platforms such as CODESYS.
- Experience with Virtual Commissioning technologies and industrial communication protocols,such as orsimilar toOPC UA.
- Good understanding of PLC standards, including IEC 61131-3 and IEC 61499.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with C# and/or Python is considered an advantage.
- Relevant educational background in automation technology, robotics, electrical engineering, computer science, game programming, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience is also valued.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills, as English is our primary working language.
