About the Role: The Junior Support Engineer (IT) will provide technical assistance and support to ensure seamless operation of IT systems critical to manufacturing processes. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy professional eager to troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain IT infrastructure in a fast-paced industrial setting. The Junior Support Engineer will work closely with the IT and production teams to ensure system reliability, data security, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues within the manufacturing facility.
- Assist in maintaining IT systems critical to manufacturing operations, including ERP systems, production software, and data tracking tools.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including desktops, servers, printers, and mobile devices.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technology-related challenges affecting production and operational efficiency.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives by ensuring all systems are compliant with security protocols and updates.
- Document technical issues, solutions, and workarounds for future reference.
- Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades and implementation of new technologies.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users to enhance their IT proficiency.
- Stay informed about emerging IT trends and technologies relevant to the manufacturing industry.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of IT support experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls).
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers and databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Azure).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to task management.
