Junior Systems Administrator

Discussion

We are looking for a sharp, curious, technically-minded Junior Systems Administrator to join our team. This is an early-career position designed for a high-potential individual who is eager to manage and evolve the backbone of our business operations.

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and software integration. You will be responsible for the health, security, and connectivity of our core platforms, ensuring that data flows cleanly across our ecosystem.

A note on experience with our specific platforms. This is a technical role and it requires real technical ability. You need to be able to read and write code, reason about how systems talk to each other, and work confidently in a command line, a log file, and an API. What you do not need is prior experience in Salesforce, AWS, or any other product on this page. Those are learnable, and we will teach them to you. If you have a solid technical foundation and a track record of picking up unfamiliar systems quickly, do not screen yourself out because you have never touched a Salesforce org.

Key Responsibilities

Investigation, Requirements, and Solutioning

  • Problem Investigation: Take ambiguous requests and unclear symptoms, trace them back to root cause, and explain what you found in plain language.
  • Requirements Gathering: Sit with stakeholders across the business, ask the questions that surface what they actually need (not just what they asked for), and turn that into a clear set of requirements.
  • Solution Design: Evaluate options, weigh tradeoffs, and recommend an approach. Then build it, test it, and see it through.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear, up-to-date technical documentation for system architecture, integration mappings, and workflow logic.

Systems & Cloud Administration

  • Salesforce Administration: Act as a junior admin for the Salesforce environment, managing user permissions, configuration changes, and custom object maintenance.
  • AWS Support: Assist in the administration of Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, ensuring cloud services are secure, patched, and performing optimally.
  • System Security: Implement and monitor security best practices across all managed platforms to safeguard company and client data.

Integrations & Automation

  • API Management: Work directly with REST/SOAP APIs to maintain and troubleshoot integrations between diverse software platforms.
  • Platform Connectivity: Manage the connective tissue between Salesforce and our core tools: Slack, BambooHR, and QuickBooks.
  • Scripting & Automation: Write logic and scripts that automate manual workflows and improve data synchronization.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve integration failures or API bottlenecks to ensure high system availability.

Stakeholder Management & Prioritization

  • Communication: Act as a technical bridge between internal teams and external clients, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Prioritization: Manage a diverse queue of technical tasks, balancing immediate support needs with long-term infrastructure projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (preferred), Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related technical field.
  • Working proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (JavaScript preferred, Python or similar accepted). You should be able to write a script that calls an API, parses the response, and handles an error, and you should be able to read code someone else wrote.
  • A solid understanding of API architecture: what REST and SOAP are, how authentication works, what a payload looks like, and how two systems exchange data.
  • Comfort working in a technical environment: command line, log files, stack traces, and vendor documentation.
  • Foundational understanding of core IT and cloud concepts such as networking basics, user access and permissions models, and security practices.

Preferred Qualifications

While this is an early-career role, professional IT experience, internships, help desk or support work, and personal development projects are all highly valued. Direct exposure to the Salesforce ecosystem, the AWS Management Console, or API testing tools is a plus and will shorten your ramp, but it will not outweigh technical fundamentals and the ability to learn.

All our positions are Remote and are available as Full Time Employment or B2B Contracts
