Justices’ Law Clerk Programme
The Justices’ Law Clerk (“JLC”) Programme is a structured 2-year programme in the Singapore Judicial Service that offers eligible young graduates the unique opportunity to work closely with the Chief Justice and the Judges on the Supreme Court Bench.
If shortlisted for an interview and found suitable for appointment, candidates would be required to first undergo 4 months of JLC-Designate (“JLCD”) training from Sep to Dec (concurrent with the Part B of the Singapore Bar Course and Examinations, if applicable), prior to the commencement of the 2-year JLC Programme the following Jan.
General Criteria
- A law degree from NUS, SMU, SUSS or a Scheduled University in England / Australia / New Zealand / USA.
- Candidates from the Scheduled Universities are also required to pass the Part A of the Singapore Bar Examinations.
- Be a “qualified person” as defined under the Legal Profession Act 1966 / Legal Profession (Qualified Persons) Rules.
