Cobb Animal Clinic is seeking a full-time Kennel Assistant to support our veterinary hospital, boarding, and pet care services. If you're dependable, compassionate, enjoy staying active, and take pride in maintaining a clean, safe environment for pets, we'd love to meet you.

As a Kennel Assistant, you'll play an essential role in ensuring every dog and cat in our care is safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their stay. This is a hands-on position that combines animal care, facility cleanliness, and outstanding client service.

Schedule
  • Full-time
  • Shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday availability required

Provide Outstanding Animal Care

  • Safely supervise dogs and cats during boarding and playtime.
  • Ensure pets are comfortable, healthy, and receiving individualized care.
  • Feed, water, and provide daily care according to veterinary instructions and special dietary needs.
  • Monitor pets for signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes and promptly communicate concerns to the veterinary team.

Maintain a Clean & Safe Facility

  • Clean and sanitize kennels, runs, cages, play yards, and common areas throughout the day.
  • Follow hospital cleaning and infection-control protocols.
  • Help create a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for pets, clients, and team members.

Support Daily Hospital Operations

  • Maintain accurate boarding and care records.
  • Assist with pet check-in and check-out.
  • Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding their pets' stay and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary hospital, animal shelter, dog daycare, boarding facility, or kennel is preferred.
  • Experience handling both dogs and cats is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive bending, kneeling, and cleaning tasks.
  • Safely handle animals of various sizes and temperaments.
Availability Requirements
Candidates must have:
  • Flexible scheduling availability
  • Ability to work every other weekend
  • Availability to work holidays, including New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
