Kindergarten Paraprofessional

Hours: 2.5 hours (11:00-1:30 on student contact days)

Class IV; starting rate $21.44 per hour

Administrative Professional and Paraprofessional Contract

Position Description:
The person in this position will be responsible for supervision of kindergarten students during the school day. The successful candidate will work 2.5 hours a day and have the chance to support the learning of kindergarten students. Duties include small group work/support, read alouds, 1:1 student interaction and assessment, supervision of an entire classroom, kindergarten recess, etc. Hours are 11:00-1:30 on student contact days

• Experience working with young children, preferably in a school environment
• Ability to take direction
• Ability to multitask and supervise students in an environment that is highly engaging
• Flexibility and patience
• Ability to communicate effectively with students
• Ability to provide positive and effective supervision
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to make decisions independently
