Kitchen Supervisor
Job Summary
Supervise and lead kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation, quality, safety, and service. Mentor staff, manage inventory, maintain equipment, and collaborate with front-of-house teams to meet operational goals in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service
- Lead, schedule, and oversee kitchen staff to ensure effective task execution and teamwork
- Prepare and present food according to restaurant recipes, quality standards, and portion specifications
- Monitor and enforce food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices in compliance with Singapore regulations and company policies
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, equipment use, and workplace safety protocols
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and implement measures to minimise food wastage
- Maintain kitchen equipment by ensuring proper use and reporting faults or maintenance needs promptly
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure timely preparation and delivery of customer orders
- Assist in menu implementation to maintain consistency in food quality and presentation
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times
- Resolve operational issues during shifts and support management in achieving operational and service targets
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent qualification preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, including supervisory experience
- Good knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and inventory management
- Familiarity with food hygiene and safety standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
