We are looking for an experienced KYC professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced corporate banking environment and has strong knowledge of regulatory requirements across Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
Responsibilities
As a KYC / AML Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive client due diligence and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Your responsibilities include:
- Perform Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews for new client onboarding and periodic reviews across Asia Pacific and Middle East jurisdictions.
- Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Politically Exposed Person (PEP), sanctions, and adverse media screening.
- Review customer profiles and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with AML/CFT regulatory requirements.
- Liaise closely with Front Office teams and internal stakeholders to obtain outstanding KYC documentation and resolve documentation gaps.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to Compliance and Head Office Financial Security where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate client static data and account information within the KYC database.
- Prepare and maintain MIS reports, reconciliation reports, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Participate in system enhancement projects, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform ad hoc screening exercises and support other compliance-related activities.
- Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to junior team members when required.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Banking, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in KYC, CDD, AML, or Financial Crime Compliance within Corporate or Investment Banking.
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations, KYC documentation requirements, and client due diligence processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks across Asia, including MAS, HKMA, CBRC, PBOC, and FSC, would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English. Proficiency in Chinese (including reading Simplified and Traditional Chinese) is required for this role as the successful candidate will review client documentation and communicate with Chinese-speaking stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region.
