L2 Application Support Engineer (Payments) | Contract
Responsibilities:
- Take initiative and proactively address tasks and issues.
- Resolve user queries efficiently while maintaining a strong service mindset.
- Provide technical and non-technical support to the Singapore Branch.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with users, technical teams, vendors, and management.
- Balance technical knowledge with effective business communication.
- Clearly communicate incidents, business impact, risks, workarounds, and resolution status.
- Build strong relationships with users, vendors, and internal support teams.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and requests.
- Maintain incident logs, reports, SOPs, and knowledge repositories while driving service improvements.
- Work with L3 Support and vendors to define SLAs and ensure compliance with agreed service standards.
- Provide application support for FAST Payment systems.
- Support Accounting and Customer Information File (CIF) applications.
- Troubleshoot applications, investigate incidents, resolve issues, and handle service requests.
- Support application releases, changes, enhancements, and post-deployment validation.
- Perform application monitoring, health checks, and operational support.
- Collaborate with L3 Support and vendors to resolve complex application issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of application support experience within corporate banking or financial services environments.
- Strong hands-on experience supporting FAST payment systems and other payment-related applications.
- Solid understanding of payment transaction processing, banking operations, and end-to-end payment workflows.
- Working knowledge of accounting processes, reconciliation, settlement, and General Ledger (GL) impacts.
- Good understanding of CIF (Customer Information File/System) and customer master data management.
- Proven experience supporting Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple application support activities, enhancements, and projects simultaneously.
- Experience leading application support teams and effectively balancing BAU operations, application enhancements, and project deliverables.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and vendor coordination skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
- Experience supporting PayNow, GIRO, SWIFT, and ISO 20022 payment messaging.
- Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar application monitoring and observability tools.
- Experience conducting application health checks and operational monitoring.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, log analysis, and application troubleshooting techniques.
Good to Have
- Experience administering Windows Server and Linux Server environments.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar IT service management and support tools.
- Exposure to MAS Technology Risk Management (TRM) guidelines and banking IT governance practices.
