L2/L3 Network / Systems Engineer
Salary: $105,000–$130,000 + Super(neg based exper & certs)
About the role
This is a hands-on L2/L3 Network / Systems Engineer role suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and is comfortable being both technical and client-facing. You will split your time between remote support, project work, and onsite client visits across Melbourne. This is not a desk-only role — you will regularly attend client sites to discover enhancements, troubleshoot issues, support installations, assist with projects, and provide a high standard of service. One day you might be resolving a tricky UniFi Wi-Fi or camera issue, the next you could be working on a FortiGate firewall change, supporting an Azure migration, or assisting with escalated Level 2/3 support.
Key responsibilities
Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support across client environments
Troubleshoot and maintain UniFi networking, Wi-Fi, and camera systems
Configure and support FortiGate firewalls, including VPNs, policies, and general security/networking
Support Microsoft Teams and SIP-based voice solutions
Perform onsite work including installations, troubleshooting, project delivery, and client support
Work within ConnectWise for ticket management, documentation, and service coordination
Contribute to project work, client onboarding, and general technical improvement across the business
Deliver consistently strong customer service with a calm, positive, solutions-focused approach
About you
3–5+ years' experience in an MSP environment
Strong hands-on experience with UniFi switching, wireless, and cameras
Strong hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams and/or SIP telephony
Strong hands-on experience with ConnectWise
Understanding Cybersecurity standards, Essential8, ISO27001, documentation, tools
Experience supporting multiple small business clients across networking, systems, and cloud
Comfortable working independently onsite and managing client expectations professionally
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to move between support and project work
Current certifications essential: AZ-104 and/or other relevant Azure certification, Fortinet certification (NSE 4 or above), CCNA or equivalent networking certification
