Job Summary
The Sr Video Editor is a creative leader within the production department and works with other departments and external partners to help meet their video content goals. This position will be looked to as an innovator; someone who can prepare a pitch to an external client, edit videos both big and small, and inspire those around them. This position reports directly to the Director, Content Production.
Essential Functions
- Take the lead on producing original content in various mediums from concept through final cut. This includes writing, editing, coloring, and managing external music and audio relationships.
- Brainstorm new, exciting concepts for content, and take the initiative to self-produce content pieces within a specified deadline.
- Assist with LA Kings Game Presentation and Events elements including planning and execution of pre, post, and in-game ceremonies and promotions at home games, as well as projects in cooperation with other departments as directed, such as: Communications, Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, Ticketing, Community Relations, Public Relations and Hockey Development.
- Develop best practices and suggest changes to current workflows to maximize the effectiveness of the post-production team.
- Work with internal and external clients including Global Partnerships, Community Relations, Hockey Development, Ticketing AEG, and external vendors to meet their goals as it relates to video content with the LA Kings.
Education Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) (Advanced Degree Preferred) In TV/Film Production or related field
Experience Qualifications
- 4-6 years related work experience
- Experience with audio mixing and color correction within Adobe Premiere
- Motion Graphics, 3D Animation
- Experience working with a sports team is a plus, but not a requirement
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work motivate and manage a team of highly creative, driven professionals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with all levels within the company and with external clients.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop
- Firm understanding of video compression and standard codecs used for broadcast and digital
- Creative and skilled in many different forms of content, from marketing promotions, arena shows, and social content
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a highly demanding, time sensitive environment
- Open to criticism and changes to their creative interpretations and edits
- Strong sense of project ownership and dedication to delivering outstanding results
- Excellent time management skills. Be able to complete projects under deadline with little supervision
- Strong attention to detail. Be able to notice a missing frame or out-of-sync audio preferred.
- Ability to work games inclusive of nights, weekends and holidays.
Payscale: $79,127 - $88,000
Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
