Summary
Performs phlebotomy and point-of-care testing for patients of all ages in a hospital emergency department, including blood draws, glucose testing, and specimen processing.
Responsible for phlebotomy procedures to include bleeding time test, blood cultures, obtaining blood samples from neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients; performing glucose testing at the bedside; and performing waived or moderate complexity Point of Care testing at the bedside for patients in the Emergency Department. Also assists in clerical duties of the department; including patient registration, specimen processing, and quality assurance documentation as needed.
