As Lab Operations Specialist (Part-time) you will join our operations team in our Vienna lab and keep the day-to-day infrastructure running smoothly so our scientists can focus on research.

- Manage lab glassware and PPE cycles: operate and maintain the dishwasher and autoclave, and coordinate lab-coat laundering with our external service
- Maintain consumables, chemicals and inventory: restock benches and shared areas, track stock levels, lot numbers and expiry dates, receive and store deliveries correctly (including cold-chain and hazardous goods), and raise reorders before shortages occur.
- Prepare standard buffers, stock solutions and media from written protocols, including weighing, pH adjustment, filtration/autoclaving, correct labelling and documentation in our electronic laboratory notebook.
- Coordinate external lab-service logistics: book waste and biological-waste collections, manage liquid nitrogen and CO2 cylinder supply, and keep disposal documentation complete.
- Carry out routine equipment care (water baths, ice machines, centrifuges, incubators), including descaling and cleaning.
- Maintain overall lab cleanliness and run recurring disinfection schedules for benches, fume hoods, cold rooms and storage areas.
- Support general lab operations and flag any safety, supply, or equipment issues to the team promptly.
- Relevant vocational training, undergraduate studies (B.Sc.) or prior experience in a laboratory support, technician, or facility-operations role.
- Familiarity with autoclaves, glassware washing and basic solution preparation from protocols.
- Reliable, detail-oriented and comfortable managing inventory, documentation and supplier coordination.
- Ability to work independently on recurring tasks and flexibly with external service providers.
- Working proficiency in English

Due to legal requirements, we are required to state that the minimum salary for this job (20h) is a monthly salary of EUR 1.050,-- gross, where candidates with extensive experience can expect to earn EUR 1.350,-- and more.
