Purpose and Impact

As a Lab Technician, you will support product quality and food safety by conducting chemistry and microbiological analyses throughout the brewing and packaging process. This role plays an important part in ensuring products meet company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. You will work closely with Production and Quality teams to identify issues, maintain laboratory operations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Quality Control & Laboratory Testing

  • Conduct chemistry sampling and testing at all stages of the brewing and packaging process.
  • Perform analytical testing using approved laboratory methods and techniques.
  • Prepare solutions, reagents, standards, and sample formulations required for testing.
  • Complete quality control audits of production lines and document results accurately.

Microbiological Analysis

  • Collect microbiological samples using sterile techniques.
  • Perform microbiological testing and monitor results against established quality standards.
  • Report deviations and support investigation of non-conforming results.

Laboratory Operations

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare and package samples for internal and external shipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of analytical results.
  • Participate in sensory evaluation and taste panels as required.

Food Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Place non-conforming product on hold in accordance with national procedures.
  • Follow food safety requirements and report non-conformities promptly.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and support 5S practices in daily activities.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and general workplace rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications (Required)

  • University Degree in Science with a concentration in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Microbiology, or a degree in Food Science.
  • Working knowledge of microbiology and chemistry principles and laboratory practices.
  • Ability to perform duties accurately with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Interest in brewing, packaging, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • Ability to lift and carry samples as required.


Work Environment (Hybrid/Onsite)
Onsite – This position is performed onsite in a laboratory and production environment. The role involves exposure to cold and wet conditions, hazardous chemicals, burners and flammable substances, working at heights, and other hazards typical of analytical and microbiological laboratories.
