About the role

We have exciting opportunities available within our Microbiology team, based at our Dunsandel site. We’re looking for Laboratory Analyst, ideally with proven microbiology testing capability who can confidently operate within a regulated laboratory environment. This role is best suited to someone who already has hands-on laboratory exposure and can work with a high degree of accuracy, accountability and pace.

You will play an important role in delivering reliable microbiological results that support operational performance, product quality and compliance obligations. You will be trusted to manage your workflow, uphold laboratory standards and contribute positively to team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and non-routine microbiological testing in line with documented methods and quality standards.
  • Accurately interpret, validate, and report results within agreed turnaround times.
  • Maintain precise laboratory records and data integrity using Microsoft applications and laboratory systems.
  • Operate in accordance with laboratory quality systems, identifying and escalating non-conformances where required.
  • Support equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and contribute to maintaining an audit-ready laboratory environment.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.


What You’ll Bring

This role will suit someone who is confident working autonomously, demonstrates sound scientific judgement, and maintains composure and accuracy in a fast-paced setting.

  • A tertiary qualification in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline (required).
  • Demonstrated experience working within an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory environment.
  • Proven hands-on experience performing a range of microbiological testing methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality systems, documentation standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage workload pressures and consistently meet deadlines in a high-throughput environment.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident computer literacy, including experience using LIMS and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous experience within the dairy or food manufacturing sector will be highly regarded.
