Laboratory Assistant/Technician

Duties & Responsibilities

• Samples preparation and product testing to support fragrance projects and product development for all types of laundry care, cosmetics, personal care and Fine fragrance products.
• Monitor the application tests and evaluate its stability in terms of both olfactive and visual attributes, preparing reports for both internal departments and sales.
• Perform test (stability, pH and viscosities) and application of fragrance for evaluation.
• Participate in panel testing of fragranced products.
• Observe the durability of the samples and report on abnormality.
• Assist in formulating new bases, policies and procedures.
• Preparation of application and samples for sensory testing by Perfumer, CFG’s.
• Maintain and track stock level of laboratory equipment and supplies such as glass bottles, raw materials etc, for base formulation.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate and sterilize laboratory equipment and work areas.
• Systematic filing and maintenance of formulation and records.
• Regularly check and ensure raw materials are stored at correct temperature to ensure quality and safety.
• Ensure that bio-hazardous materials are disposed safely.
• Perform standard laboratory tests in according to prescribed procedures and recording of test result.
• Maintain and ensure a clean and safe laboratory environment and workplace.

Qualification:

• Diploma in Chemical Process Technology or equivalent in years of similar experience.

• Able to read and write simple English.

• Strong math skills, ability to calculate and convert the metric units.

• Preferred 1 to 3 years of working experience in manufacturing, preferably in Fragrance Industry.
