- Travel (approximately 0%) domestic and/or international
- Assists the Laboratory Operations Director with Quality monitoring in the lab including but not limited to the following: Maintaining employee records - CE, Training & Competency, and NYS License. Laboratory Records - CAP/NYS Proficiency test and Alternate Assessment schedules, Instrument forms, charts, etc.
- Additional Administrative duties include; Scheduling and taking meeting minutes, setting reminders for important dates, distribution of mail, generating and monitoring operations reports, placing orders for common stationary supplies and assisting with specific projects as delegated to by the Operations Director.
- Assists management team by Triaging issues from Issue Manager, performing first pass for data entry of results as trained.
- Assists the lab management team with filing and archiving all data for the laboratory, including data retrieval as required. Maintains all Quality books and binders and prepares new ones annually.
- Assists Lab Management and Operations Director with laboratory projects.*
- Receives results for reference specimens and performs first data entry. Maintains send out logs and files laboratory reports. Coordinates the performance of all relevant tasks for referral test reporting as they arise or as assigned.
- Assist with Inventory logs and counts.
- Participates in required Continuous Professional Education Programs, including conferences, internal journal club and lectures, as required.
- Should have Bachelor's Degree in any Life Science Stream
- At least 1-3 years relevant experience in Wet Lab or Lab administration work
- Ability to use and create spreadsheets in Excel
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to be able to effectively communicate to internal lab management and external consultants.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with good organization skills and good attention to detail.
- Ability to work in conformance with standard operating procedure and conditions with a systematic approach to tasks committed to seeing things through to completion.
- Task oriented demonstrating the ability to handle large work load demands and to trouble shoot issues timely when required.
- Customer Focused –providing timely, confident, reliable and friendly service to all our internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to keep accurate, legible records and recognize the need to handle these records and all other information in line with GCP/GLP/GDP.
- Good communication skills that allow for confident interaction with all levels in the organization.
- Demonstrates a high level of personal integrity and ethical behavior with a responsible and mature approach to work duties.
