Laboratory Technician

The role:
ALS Oil & Lubricants in Canning Vale provides testing and analysis to ensure optimal fluid health for our clients' equipment.

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to work the morning shift.

This is a full-time role with 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

You will work in a small team in our NATA-accredited oil analysis laboratory, analysing oil, coolant, fuel, and grease samples.

Full training will be provided to the successful candidate through an incremental, structured training program.

The day to day:

You will be responsible for the following:

• Labelling and unpacking samples

• Sample registration

• Routine sample testing, including:

  • ICP-OES

  • FTIR

  • Viscosity

  • Particle counting

  • Colour analysis

  • Acid-base titrations

  • Karl Fischer titrations

• Basic equipment calibration

• Working as part of a team comprising laboratory technicians, technical support staff, and leadership

• Performing housekeeping duties as required

• Working to safety guidelines in accordance with policies and procedures

• Moving and lifting racks and boxes in the 5–10 kg range

• Warehouse duties, including setting up kits for clients and dispatching and receiving goods

The essentials

• Be a team player who enjoys working within a group environment

• Have a current Forklift licence or be willing to obtain one

• Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under reasonable pressure

• Have excellent communication skills

• Have great attention to details

• Be willing to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required

• Previous experience using a LIMS would be desirable but not essential

• Cert IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or similar is advantageous
