Laboratory Technician (Asbestos)
Summary
Prepares and processes environmental samples (air, bulk, dust, water, soil) for asbestos analysis using lab equipment like balances and fume hoods, with on-the-job training provided.
EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Asbestos) in Mississauga, ON. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis Air Sample Prep, Bulk Sample Prep, Dust, Water, Soil
Utilization of balances, HEPA filtered fume hoods, filtration systems and muffle furnaces to prep samples
Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager
