Laborer

TSS Civil is seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Laborer to join our field team. The Laborer will assist with a variety of construction tasks on civil construction projects including site preparation, grading, utility installation, and general jobsite support. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, physically capable, and willing to work in outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with site preparation, grading, and excavation activities
• Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment
• Support crews with utility installation (water, sewer, and drainage systems)
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely
• Maintain clean and organized job sites
• Assist equipment operators and skilled trades as needed
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations
• Perform general labor duties such as digging, lifting, carrying, and material handling
• Help with traffic control and site safety when required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous construction or civil labor experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Reliable transportation to job sites

Preferred Skills

• Experience with civil construction, utilities, or roadway work
• Familiarity with construction tools and equipment
• OSHA 10 certification (preferred but not required)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
• Comfortable working in outdoor construction environments
