Land Acquisition Manager - SA, New Braunfels, South Austin

David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced residential Land Acquisition Manager to join our greater San Antonio Division. This role plays a key part in identifying, analyzing, and acquiring land and lot opportunities that support our new community growth and long-term success.

This individual will work closely with the division and regional leadership teams to source deals, complete underwriting, and manage the full process from pursuit to launch.

Responsibilities

  • Actively build and maintain relationships with developers, brokers, builders, engineers, and other industry partners in support of sourcing new land and lot opportunities.
  • Lead and support deal pursuits, including LOIs (Letters of Intent), negotiations, and contract reviews with the Land and Legal teams.
  • Evaluate financial proformas and market data to determine project viability.
  • Collaborate with entitlements, finance, and purchasing teams to ensure accurate assumptions and smooth execution.
  • Conduct site visits, market research, and competition studies to support new community approvals.
  • Help develop short- and long-term land strategies with division and regional leadership teams.
  • Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and manage land acquisition opportunities from sourcing through contract.
  • At least 3 years of experience in residential land acquisition.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and negotiation skills, with sound decision-making ability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, or related field preferred.
  • Proficient in GIS software; Zonda platform is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of zoning, entitlements, and due diligence processes.
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual who takes ownership and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relationship-driven professional who values collaboration and builds trust with partners, teams, and the community.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and a desire to contribute to a strong, values-driven culture.
