Land Development & Field Clearing Manager
NewBe an early applicantPURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Lead the first physical execution phase of the programme: land preparation, field clearing and efficient recovery of biomass generated during clearing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare clearing and land-development plans.
· Tender and manage clearing and earthworks contractors.
· Plan heavy-equipment fleets and production rates.
· Organise biomass recovery, sorting and transport to biochar plants.
· Maintain biomass and timber mass balances.
· Prepare cleared land for the following cultivation phase.
· Control clearing cost per hectare and contractor productivity.
· Ensure environmental, community and HSE requirements are met.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITY
· Experience in major earthworks, forestry, agriculture, land development or infrastructure projects.
· Strong knowledge of heavy equipment and field productivity.
· Demonstrated site-management experience.
· Ability to manage contractors in remote and developing-site conditions.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
· Tropical or West African project experience.
· Biomass recovery / forestry logistics experience.
· ESG-sensitive land development experience.
KEY SUCCESS MEASURES
· Safe hectares cleared to plan.
· Biomass recovery rate and cost per hectare.
· Land handed over on time for cultivation.
RECRUITMENT PRINCIPLE
We are looking first and foremost for hands-on implementers with a proven record of taking real industrial or infrastructure projects from planning through procurement, construction, commissioning and operation.
The roles are part of an international renewable-energy, circular-economy, biorefining and industrial side-stream utilisation investment programme with Côte dIvoire as the principal implementation country. The portfolio includes both fast-start production projects and later large-scale industrial investments.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
A reasonable level of working English is essential. French language skills are a major advantage.

EMPLOYMENT AND LOCATION
Employment form, work location and travel requirements will be defined role by role. Some positions may begin in Finland or elsewhere in Europe, but several key roles will require significant presence in Côte dIvoire during implementation phases.
