Coordinates and schedules land transport logistics, assigning routes and tasks while also driving a Class 4 truck for cargo collection and delivery.
- Fleet Scheduling: Plan daily truck or vehicle schedules and assign delivery tasks to drivers.
- Route Optimization: Choose fast, cost-effective ground routes using GPS or dispatch software.
- Driver Communication: Talk with drivers via phone or radio to give updates and track progress.
- Issue Resolution: Solve delivery delays, vehicle breakdowns, or traffic problems quickly.
- Record Keeping: Log driver hours, mileage, fuel use, and delivery paperwork.
- Back-up driver duties: Drives a Class-4 truck and perform collection/delivery of cargo.
- Adhoc: Labour work, packing, unpacking, stuffing & unstuffing of container. May need to cover import clearance or export transfer of cargo as and when needed.
