Landscape Designer

ABOUT THE POSITION
Join VHB— We’re hiring a Landscape Designer in our dynamic Tampa office. At VHB, you’ll be part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that is passionate about creating vibrant, resilient, and people-focused places delivering a diverse portfolio of private and public projects—including retail destinations, single- and multi-family communities, mixed-use developments, corporate and institutional campuses, academic environments, streetscapes, parks, plazas, and signature public spaces.

Responsibilities
- Work with multi-disciplinary project teams, assist in developing site design from concept through construction
- Prepare graphics, by hand and by computer, for design development, presentations and public process materials, including sketch-up models, concept plans and diagrams, design studies, illustrative plans, cross sections and perspective sketches
- Assist in producing construction documents: Develop layout and material, grading, planting plans, technical details, and write technical specifications
- Assist in preparing estimates of probable construction costs
- Conduct construction site visits and plant tagging
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in working with AutoCAD (LandFX is preferred), Sketch-up, Photoshop, InDesign, LumionPro and PowerPoint/Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Revit would be beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate strong graphic skills and ability to organize and present ideas
- Ability to handle assignments from multiple project managers
- Public speaking skills
Requirements
- Minimum 1-3+ years of commercial experience in a professional design/landscape architectural setting
- BLA from an accredited Landscape Architecture Program; MLA from an accredited Landscape Architecture Program is a plus
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices desired

The full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in Tampa, FL, is $60,000 to $75,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.
Annual base salary is one component of VHB’s Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
