Landscaper/Maintenance

San Antonio Christian School is seeking a dependable, skilled, and mission-aligned Landscaper/Maintenance to support the stewardship and beautification of our 71-acre campus. This individual will maintain the grounds in a way that reflects excellence and creates a welcoming environment for students, staff, families, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes the initiative; values hard work and understands the importance of campus presentation. SACS is a non-denominational covenant Christian school with small class sizes and quality academics, coupled with a wide range of art and athletic opportunities which provide students with a Christ-centered education while fostering a life of faith and service.

The Landscaper focuses on the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding SACS. The main objective is to perform a variety of work in the beautification of the grounds.

This person shall be spiritually mature and shall instill a life of Faith, Character, and Academic Excellence in those around them, adhering to SACS Heart of a Lion Core Values.

JOB DUTIES COMPETENCIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Landscape Maintenance

• Mow, edge, trim, fertilize, and water all lawn areas.
• Plant, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation.
• Apply mulch and maintain flowerbeds and landscaped areas throughout campus.
• Clear debris, leaves, and litter from walkways, sidewalks, parking lots, and outdoor spaces.
• Maintain irrigation systems and assist with troubleshooting or repair as needed.
• Operate landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hedge cutters.
• Ensure the safe use, storage, and maintenance of all landscaping tools and machinery.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as raking, weeding, and pest control.
• Maintain outdoor common areas for cleanliness and appearance.
• Assist with setup and takedown of outdoor school events when requested.
• Assist with Maintenance and facilities department as needed.
• Familiarity with general repairs and maintenance equipment.

Campus Stewardship & Support

• Report hazards or maintenance concerns to the Facilities Manager promptly.
• Assist with campus maintenance and janitorial projects and staff to meet daily needs.
• Support other school-related duties (e.g., moving equipment, clearing storm debris).
• Serve with a positive attitude, recognizing the role of physical space in shaping student experience and school culture.
