Are you a senior localization professional with a flawless command of the tech domain and a proven track record of steering complex linguistic projects to success? We are seeking an experienced Language Lead (English to Simplified Chinese) to champion linguistic quality, govern terminology assets, and lead a distributed team of freelance translators for our premier IT and software localization pipelines, with a specific focus on UI/UX localization projects.
In this strategic role, you will act as the bridge between global project management teams and local linguistic resources. You will own the quality of the Simplified Chinese output for high-profile technology brands, ensuring all software UI, documentation, and digital assets are perfectly tailored to the Chinese market.

Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and maintain rigorous quality standards for all English to Chinese (Simplified) localization streams with a focus on user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) content. Audit deliverables and manage the linguistic feedback loop.
- Author, update, and manage localized style guides, comprehensive IT glossaries, and Translation Memories (TMs) to enforce domain-specific consistency.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate a remote team of freelance translators, editors, and LQA testers. Provide actionable linguistic feedback, onboarding training, and query resolution.
- Partner closely with global Project Managers, Engineering teams, and client stakeholders to optimize localization workflows, mitigate risks, and troubleshoot complex technical or linguistic challenges.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on resource performance, linguistic quality metrics, and project delivery timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in UI/UX localization, software translation, or technical IT content., with at least 2+ years acting in a Language Lead, Reviewer, or LQA Specialist capacity.
- Native fluency in Chinese (Simplified) with an impeccable, professional command of source English. A deep sensitivity to local tech terminology vs. regional variants is mandatory.
- Must be currently living and working outside of Chinawith an established, reliable remote setup.
- Deep proficiency in advanced translation management systems and CAT tools (e.g., Trados Studio, Phrase, memoQ) alongside automated Quality Assurance tools (e.g., Xbench).
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage concurrent pipelines and tight release schedules.
