LANSA / IBM i APPLICATION ENGINEER
About the role
We are looking for an experienced LANSA / IBM i Application Engineer to join a remote team supporting and enhancing enterprise business applications for an international client. This is an opportunity to work with established LANSA-based applications while contributing to ongoing development, maintenance, troubleshooting, integrations, and application improvements.
Key responsibilities
Develop, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot applications built with LANSA / Visual LANSA
Work with RDML and/or RDMLX code and related LANSA components
Support applications operating in an IBM i / AS400 environment
Analyze application issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate fixes
Develop and test application enhancements based on business requirements
Work with SQL and relational databases, including DB2 for IBM i where applicable
Participate in application integrations, interfaces, and API-related work as required
Perform testing, debugging, code reviews, and technical documentation
Collaborate with developers, technical leads, business users, and other stakeholders
Provide production support and participate in incident/problem resolution
About you
Professional experience developing or supporting LANSA or Visual LANSA applications
Hands-on experience with RDML and/or RDMLX
Experience working with IBM i / AS400 environments, or strong experience supporting LANSA-based enterprise systems
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to read, understand, modify, and maintain existing application code
Good written and spoken English
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while communicating effectively with an international team
